A buddy of mine has a late 90’s Jeep Grand Cherokee. He has the Chrysler Infinity gold stereo system, but with an after market Sony head unit and two 12" sub woofers in the back.

He enjoys playing his music with ridiculous bass levels, (the bass boost and levels on the subs are cranked, but not maxed) At moderate levels you can hear all the lows, mids, and his; but once the volume on the head unit is cranked, all you hear is ridiculous amounts of bass from the sub, and the super hi hi’s (like the cymbals/high guitar leads) and all clarity/mids is lost. And I’m not expert at stereo systems, but it sounds like it’s clipping.

To get loud volumes but a good sound throughout the spectrum, would a bigger amplifier maybe fix this?
