Can I simply pull out and replace a Kenwood car stereo with another?
Question by jpg: Can I simply pull out and replace a Kenwood car stereo with another?
I have an after market Kenwood CD player in my 2001 Honda CRV installed by Best Buy. It doesn’t work right, so I wanna replace it with a new one. Can I simply pull it out and put in the new one without any new wiring harness or anything? I mean, can I do it myself in 15 minutes or less, or is it more involved than I think it is?

unless you bought anther Kenwood, then you would have to do a wiring harness.

Ahhh… right, sounds like you know perfectly well that you cannot… Couldn’t think of anything better to ask???
Likely it’s more involved, but if you luck out the wiring harness will be the same. 15 minutes is a little optimistic for even a simple swap out.
yeah you should be able to do it fairly quick, if your replacing it with the same exact stereo and if they didn’t install a security latch
If it’s a Kenwood also and the plug on the back is the same as the older one, then yes. If not, you’ll have to disconnect all wires and wire up the new radio.
Good Luck!
