Difference between car audio and home audio?
Question by Tyler C: Difference between car audio and home audio?
Why does nearly every stock car audio system ALWAYS have MUCH MUCH MUCH more bass than just about any home stereo on the marke?
And the custom car audio systems (“bump in the trunk”) have so much bass that you can hear it from half a mile away, and it’s not the crappy artificial “bass booster” equalizer, it’s real smooth bass.
And just about any home stereo systems only focus on treble, the bass in 99.9% of home stereo systems is so weak, you have to put your ear in the airhole to hear it! And why are most car speakers oval shaped?

Most car bass are powered by amps. You could have multiple amps and subs in your car, the more watts on the amp means more power or bass. Also subs have built in watts themselves which causes the booming sound. Hope this helps.

Most homes don’t have as much road noise as a car. Also, most homes have a bit more acoustical space than a car.
Usually u put more watts to the subwoofers in car audio as opposed to home! Also more room in house so bass won’t be as loud but try checking out Dayton Titanic Subwoofers they are home/car audio subwoofers! My little brother has 2 15″ Titanics w/1,000 watt amp in his car and that pounds very hard! Dayton Audio is the way to go period!!!
