Hi, I recently put together a sound system in my car. When I turn the volume up to a certain level the speakers are fine, when I add my level 1 or level 2 Bass Boost on the speakers, they start snapping & popping. Is there a way I can fix this problem, without purchasing new speakers, such as changing the amp settings to each of the 4 speakers, so I would be able to raise the volume?
The following are the components to my system:
1) Stereo – "Kenwood KDC-HD545U." [CD player with built-in MOSFET amplifier (22 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels)]

2) Speakers (4) – "JVC CS-V6835." [6' x 8' 3-way Coaxial Car Speaker 240 Watts Max 40 Watts RMS Aramid Fiber Cone Woofer Twin Roll Rubber Surround 4 Ohms 85 dB Sensitivity].

3) Amp (5 Channel) – "Infinity Kappa 5" 5-channel amplifier [50 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 300 watts x 1 at 2 ohms]
Item #108KAPPA5V.

4) Orion Sub 12" & I think 500 RMS
Also, how will the frequency settings affect the speakers if I change them higher or lower and how do I know what range to keep them in….to be more specific with my question(s).
Thanks!
side note: bass boost is a setting on the stereo for the speakers. Thanks again for your answer(s).
