Hi i was wondering if this is true. I heard if you buy a car stereo at best buy for $ 99 or more you get free installation ?

i know in New York some of the Best Buy stores offer that deal. It all depends on if the store is privately owned or not.

I know that was true at circuit city when they were in business, but i’ve never seen a best buy with that deal, I live in chicago.
In the past I worked at best buy and this was, and most likely still is an on going promotion. Any radio $ 99 and above gets you free installation. This covers a “normal” installation. If you have a vehicle that requires extensive labor in order to fit a radio in it then that additional work will be charged. Any radio under $ 99, was $ 44 in labor to install. The free labor doesn’t cover the cost of parts to adapt your radio to your vehicle (wire harness, dash kit, antenna adapter if needed).
Best Buy stopped doing this a few years ago.
