right alternator to run aftermarket car audio system?
hi, I recently added new sound system to my car.
Max output is 1600W and 500RMS. I’m running a 600W max
class AB 4channel amp and class D 1000W max class D
mono channel amp. Car’s equipped with 90A alternator. Does this
alternator generate sufficient amp to feed the sound system
power it needs or should I have to go for bigger alternator? if so,
what’s the right size? Can anyone tell me how to calculate this
whole right alternator for certain wattage from amplifier?
I read an article that changing battery wouldn’t do much if alternator amp is far off from what it’s needed for sound system. Also, from personal experience, capacitor never really helped me getting rid of some problems.
