I finally got my car up and running (its a 91 lumina 4 door) and im trying to put a fairly decent sound system in it. it already has 4 x 6 infinity speakers in the front along with the factory cassete player which aint doin nuthin. i was looking on wal mart and i saw a deck, a sub, and two speakers. im not looking to spend a whole lot of money becuz i dont plan on keeping dis car for long. here are the links to what im looking to buy at wal mart.
also im not sure if i need an amp. i saw a couple cheap ones on amazon. and again im not looking to spend a whole lot. im havin trouble deciding if i need an amp. does an amp just power the sub or the whole system iteself? and if i do need one, which one should i get and how many watts does it need to have so the music wont sound distorted. and lastly for the second link above, when i went to the link on the walmart page about seeing if this product fits in my vehicle it gave me the option to buy the stereo installation kit and a stereo connector. do i need to buy this also or is it already in my car.

i want to have about an 8 in sub and better speakers than the ones stock in my 02 accord ex coupe i also need an amp but im not expecting a blow my ears out with sound i want a good clear sound i can feel and that passerbys can hear just enough to know what music is playing ….do i need to worry about a head unit? will the stock one do?what kind of power do i need ?do i need to worry about my alternator or battery ? having no expierience should i try this project myself? what will it cost for self installation rather than if i get someone else to do it? how difficult of a task is this for me?in laymans terms how can i get the best sounding stereo on a budget of no more than 1000 dollars? primarily concerned with the actual componants on my car going bad if i have too much power coming off my stereo. what can i do to have my car and stereo running tight?
