Being a girl, naturally i know nothing about cars espesh car audio systems. What do i need to know, in general about buying a new system that is inexpensive but still sounds good. I know nothing about it so the simpler the better. What are subs, amps, face plates- yada yada yada.
I just purchased a 2001 Eclipse GT with the Infinity sound system. The amplifier is under the seat I believe. How would I go about installing my sub woofer with a separate amp. Any links to a site with pictures would be great, or a decent explanation, I’ve installed subs before, but that was on a car with a head unit, the Eclipse just has the stock 4 disk CD player.

i currently have two kenwood single voice coil subs there 12s… in a ported box witht the kenwood 1800 with 900rms so 450 to each… i know the amp supposidly doesnt put out that much but whatever… but what would sound better the system i got now or just 1 type r in a ported box with this amp getting 500rms to it… i want less rattling and deeper bass… think itll sound better?
I have sort of an old car, and the sound system is very quiet. I don’t need crazy loud music, but when i have a cd on full volume, I can still talk, with only a slightly louder voice, and still be heard very well. I was wondering if putting in a new radio deck would make my car louder, since it could put out more power, or if I would also have to get new speakers/subs.
